Galdar

Gáldar is a municipality in the north most of the island; situated in the mountains and craters surrounded by valleys. Farmlands are within the coastline while the mountains lie to the southeast, the Atlantic Ocean lies to the west and to the north. A promontory is facing to the northwest. Gáldar is located west of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, north of Maspalomas and west of Arucas and is linked with a major highway linking Puerto Rico and Agaete.

The main industries are agriculture (bananas), businesses and tourism. The climate is much cooler than the south of the islands resorts.
